Description: This class will teach the foundations of using a sewing machine. We will go over how to read and understand a sewing pattern and then work on the Costa Tote pattern from Helen’s Closet. It’s a free pattern so Kaitlyn will have multiple printed off and ready for students to use. You will learn how to use a sewing machine, assemble a PDF pattern, cut out fabric from a pattern, apply fusible interfacing, line a project, and topstitch. This class is for ages 12 and up.
Prior skills recommended: None! This class is for true beginners. However, if you're bringing your own sewing machine, you will need to already know how to wind a bobbin with thread, and thread your machine.
